Her goal was the assist
When the chips were down, nobody came up bigger
than Tempe Corona del Sol senior midfielder Alexa Daiutolo. After an
outstanding season which she finished as the school's career assist
leader, Daiutolo saved her best for last on the Aztecs' final run
toward their second consecutive Class 5A Division I title.

A career for the record book
Wolfgang Weber didn't immediately say yes to the
loaded question: Is Fernando Gauna the best soccer player he's
coached at Tucson Salpointe Catholic? In his 25 years at Salpointe,
Weber's seen several players, but he picked two, Vince Bianchi and
Scott Leber, whose accomplishments compare to that of Gauna's.
